no dining out

We are not gonna do it for the whole month of April! Eating out I mean... Maybe that should be followed in May by not eating at the house for the whole month! Really we are gonna do this (by my decision) to see how much money we can save. There is a great website www.mint.com that makes a budget for each user and I was a little suprised to see how much we spend on eating out. I told my 14 y old son tonight that we will not be dining out for the whole month of April and he said he would ride his bike to the mexican resturant if he has to. Poor child
I am gonna blog about my withdrawels from eating out because it will be a form of therapy I think... therapy or complaining, see it however you wish....

My mothers hands

I was at the ball field with my family and after we ate peanuts my mother came over to me and asked me to use the water I had to wash her hands off. As I was doing this I got teary eyed thinking that here I was, washing the hands that held me as I came into this world, changed my dirty little diaper, spanked my bottom when I was being bad, curled my hair to make me "pretty", and held me when I was hurt and crying...
Mother-
to one who bears the sweetest name
and adds a luster to the same-
who shares my joys
and cheers when sad
the greatest friend I ever had-
long life to her for there will
be another another to take
the place of my dear Mother

Non- Runners

This is a pretty good book... it of course about a lady that is training for her first marathon, going from nothing to training. I like how she expresses how she really feels about things like "chipper Jen" her running partner and being able to tell her grandkids " come sit on grandmas lap and let her tell you about the time she had abs". The book is pretty funny and keeps you focused on training.

Free T-shirt!!

Well we did a "Save The Hooters" run and I have a couple of XL t shirts left that I need to get rid of. They are just sitting there in a box. Brand new. Post a comment and NEXT FRIDAY
I will have a raffle using the name you provided to mail a shirt out to the winner. No cost to you I just want some feedback/comments and I know that it would be cool to get a t shirt from someone you don't know! lol
Leave your comments and check back next Friday for the winner... if your the winner shot me a email with your address and I will mail it out to ya!

Running

Some of us friends have started a running club in Griffin. Running can be tedious to us after a while so having others around to run with helps tremendously! We have put on a few 5k around here to raise money for Susan G Komen foundation and we try to attend every 5k in our area to support others. We recently joined a gym to up our endurance and get pumped up for the next 5k. Went to a cycling class this morning and I am pretty darn confident that it is helping!!

How much do you run? Who do you Run with? How long have you been running?

Humanity : photo contest DrCason.org

I will ALWAYS treasure this picture! The little boy that is looking at the ground is new to this class. He was in a car accident with his parents and both died. He has had about 6 surgeries. The class went on a field trip and everyone was being so nice to him and it really touched my heart. I took this picture because the boy on the left is trying to talk to him. The little boy that was in the accident, his name is Riley... say a prayer for him.

Vatican City

VATICAN CITY – The Vatican demanded Wednesday that a bishop who denied the Holocaust recant his positions before being fully admitted into the Roman Catholic Church.
The Vatican also said in a statement that Pope Benedict XVI didn't know about Bishop Richard Williamson's views when he agreed to lift his excommunication and that of three other ultraconservative bishops Jan. 21.

Come on! I am studying about World War II and it hurts my heart that this dude, a christian would make a comment like that. The wars around that time are heart breaking and listening to the stories told by those that survived will burn a hole in you. what a prick to say something like that! Kick him outta for good!

Skydiving

I am sure you have heard about the guy that did a tandem jump from an airplane at 14000 feet with the tandem instructor that died from a heart attack after he opened the main. Yikes! Add this to a long list of reasons not to jump from a plane!! The kid wasn't giving up and calling it a hopeless situation though. His brain went into save mode and he steered the canopy away from a house and tree. I am sure that landing was a butt kicker though. Amazing what we can do when we have to.
I have made about 100 skydives and some of those jumps were with my father which has created such a meaningful and wonderful experience in my life... even bringing me closer to my dad and hearing him tell me that he is proud of me while hugging me... something I never thought would happen!
SKYDIVE is so awesome and I really hope everyone tries this experience. My best moment in skydiving would be when I did an exit from a cessna and went out alone and I was able to hold a sit position while falling 120 mph!
I wore my closing pin necklace today in honor of my fellow fallen skydiver. May he rest in peace and blue skies my friend

Baseball

My son is going for tryouts today! I am so excited! Yeah he is only 7 but he is so good and I can't help but get overly excited about him catching and batting. I hope to get a nice camera soon so I can take some great action photos. He got a new glove and cleats last night and he was so cute trying not to smile while he was trying them on.

HOWEVER... before we could make it out to the ballfield, I heard Cole crying for me, I ran outside to find that during his practice outside before we went to tryouts, his friend had thrown the ball, missed by Cole's hand but caught by his eye. We still made it tryouts. He did great... with limited vision....

Putting up border patrol!

That's right! I am setting up my border patrol today! There has been an attack recently on me and I just can not take any negative comments or actions against me... I am just too precious! My ex husband has for years now been throwing out the same mumbo-jumbo lies to try and attack me, get me to scream back and all around upset me. I am done. I will not lower myself to answer his silly letters or emails and I will not pretend to be friends with him when I have to be around him. I remove myself from the line of fire. My men are standing guard and they are heavily armed so watch out you pieces of feces that try your psychological mumbo-jumbo on me.... it will not work. I got nothing for ya.

Forbear

Word for the day... forbear. The dictionary definition: to hold oneself back from especially with an effort, to control oneself when provoked : be patient.

With this word I hope to remember it in the times when I am feeling the urge to knock my ex husband over the head, I hope to remember this word when I seek out to do something that may momentarily offer a piece of solice but will indeed bring on much more pain later. I think we become stronger individuals when we forbear situations that offer only temporary relief. One of my favorite quotes: withholing in one moment of anger will save you 100 days worth of grief.

Welcome to my fantasy

Chimera is a fire-breathing she-monster in Greek mythology having a lion's head, a goat's body, and a serpent's tail or an illusion or fabrication of the mind... which is exactly what my blog is... a fabrication of my mind.
